2022-23 Season (Fifth Year) - McDonald competed 14 different meets for Asheville in his final season with the program...He won nine events total on the season...Set new personal-best marks in the shot put, hammer throw, and discus...Was the Big South's Indoor Conference Champion in shot put with a mark of 18.10-meters...Earned All-Big South Second Team honors in the shot put and discus at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships...Qualified for the NCAA East Prelims for the second consecutive season...At the NCAA Championships, McDonald placed 36th with a toss of 17.56-meters in the shot put.Â
2021-22 Season (Senior) - McDonald had one of the best seasons ever put forth by an Asheville thrower in the history of the program...In 14 total meets, McDonald totaled 16 podium finishes in a variety of events...He finished no lower than second during the indoor season in the shot put...He won shot put events at the Appalachian Open Indoor (18.06m), ETSU Track & Field Invitational (17.90m), and Buccaneer Track & Field Invitational (18.28m)...His mark at the Buccaneer Invitational broke his own program indoor record for the event...Managed to earn All-Big South Second Team honors in the shot put as well at the Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships (18.14-meters)...McDonald continued to rack up the victories in the outdoor season in taking the top spot in the shot put at the Montreat Invitational (17.61m) and Catamount Classic (17.52m)...Earned All-Big South Third Team honors in the shot put at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a mark of 17.10m...Joined an exclusive club of former Bulldog greats as he and teammate Claudia Prieto (long jump) were invited to compete at the NCAA East Prelims...At the Prelims, McDonald finished 33rd with a toss of 17.45m in the shot put.Â
2020-21 Season (Junior) - As a junior, McDonald had a breakout season...He won five events over the course of the exclusive outdoor season, including pair of first-place nods at the season-opening Winthrop Opener on February 27...In that meet, McDonald paced the field in the shot put (15.75m) and discus (42.90m), while also finishing second in the hammer throw (41.50m)...McDonald lower than fifth on just two occasions in 2021...He finished up the season at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships...He garnered All-Big South honors by placing third in the shot put (17.29-meters) and narrowly missed the same honor in the discus by finishing fourth with a toss of 47.00-meters.Â
2019-20 Season (Sophomore) - During his first season as a Bulldog, McDonald was limited to six meets due to the beginning of the CoVID-19 pandemic...He made his collegiate track & field debut on December 6-7 at the Appalachian Open Indoor Meet where he took part in the shot put (8th - 13.53m) and weight throw (17th - 10.74m) events...Logged a couple of top-five finishes during that indoor season, including finishing runner-up at the Thundering Herd Invitational in the shot put with a toss of 14.60-meters...Finished up the season by appearing at the Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships where he placed 12th in the shot put (13.26m) and 18th in the weight throw (11.93m).
