The best way to support UNC Asheville Athletics annually and make an impact on every team is by donating to Bulldog Club, the primary unrestricted scholarship fund of UNC Asheville Athletics. Annual donations made to the Bulldog Club help provide our student-athletes with a championship experience in the classroom and in competition through scholarships, facility enhancements, and programmatic support. Any charitable gift made over the course of the membership year to the Bulldog Club qualifies you to become a “member” for that membership year.

Membership Year:

July 1 - June 30

Qualifying Contributions:

Any charitable gift made over the course of the membership year (July 1 – June 30) to the Bulldog Club fund (formerly known as "Bulldog Athletics Fund") qualifies you to become a “member” for that membership year.

Membership Benefits:

Becoming a member of the Bulldog Club supports all UNC Asheville student-athletes and qualifies you for exclusive benefits. Unless applied to future membership years/campaigns, your contributions made during the current membership year count towards that year's total giving and qualifies you for associated benefits for that giving level (See "Levels & Benefits Chart"). The fair market value of the benefits members receive are subtracted from the tax-deductible portion of the donation and will be reflected as such in the year-end tax receipting.

Booster Compliance Guidelines

What is a donor/booster?
Anyone who has donated money or time to an institution’s athletic department, promoted the athletics program, or assisted in recruiting or providing benefits to athletes.  When you have been deemed a booster/ donor, you retain that designation from that point forward.

Actions with Prospective Student Athletes
The NCAA defines prospects as all students who have started 9th grade (7th grade for men’s basketball)

NCAA Legislation does not allow for a booster to play any role in the recruitment process.
• Boosters may not make recruiting contacts in person with a prospect at any site.
• Boosters are prohibited from communicating with prospects for recruiting purposes. This includes social media and text messages.
• Boosters may not evaluate prospects, which includes contacting the prospect’s school, coach, or counselor.  Additionally, donors may not secure transcripts or video to evaluate their athletic or academic ability.
• Boosters may not employ or arrange employment of a prospect before graduation from high school.

Actions with Current Student Athletes
Permissible Activities:
• Provide employment, but only for work actually performed at the local going rate.
• Attend events to support the team
• Invite a student athlete for an occasional meal.  An occasional meal can be at your home, on campus, or at a local restaurant.  UNC Asheville defines occasional as one meal per month as an individual and one meal a month with their team.

Examples of Extra Benefits a Booster CANNOT Provide:
• Cash or gifts, including sporting event or concert tickets.
• The use of personal property (e.g., boats, summer houses/condos, automobiles).
• A special discount arrangement or credit on a purchase (e.g., airline tickets, clothing).
• Arranging, providing or co-signing a loan.
• Arranging or providing free or reduced cost professional services (e.g., medical or dental services, haircuts, automotive services, laundry, dry cleaning, etc.).
• A benefit connected with off-campus housing (e.g., television sets, electronic equipment, room furnishings, specialized recreational facilities, etc.).
• Room, board, or transportation costs (including a stay in your home or transportation to or from a job).
• Financial rewards for athletic performance.
• Arranging or providing free or reduced cost housing to the student or their family.
• Arranging or providing employment for a student-athlete's parents, guardians or friends.

Name, Image, Likeness Specific Information
• Boosters and booster-led collectives cannot guarantee NIL deals tied to a prospect's decision to attend a particular institution.
• NIL agreements must be for an athlete's independent value, not as compensation or incentives for enrollment or performance.
• All NIL agreements over $600 in value must be put into the NILGo system for analysis and approval prior to the transaction being finalized.
• Boosters may aid a student in getting an NIL deals.
• Boosters may review deals for students and advise them about implications and decisions or provide them with names of people with particular expertise so long as there is no additional extra benefit in regard to costs associated with seeking professional advice (example: Paying an attorney or financial advisor for them)
