Fan FAQ

Accessibility- Seating and Parking

Seating- Wheelchair and ADA accessible seating is available on the Concourse level of the Sherrill Center/Kimmel Arena.  If you have a need for accessible seating on gameday, please contact any member of the game day staff or ushers located throughout the building.  ADA accessible restrooms are located on the Concourse near the main entrance, as well as on the west side of the arena behind Sections 5 and 6 between the Arby's Scholarship Deck and back concessions stand. Guests requiring a wheelchair must provide one for their own use.

Parking- ADA accessible parking is located in Lot P9. To qualify for handicap parking, you must display a valid state handicap parking permit. Handicap parking is on a first come, first serve basis. You must present your state issued permit upon entry to the lot. The holder of the permit must be in the vehicle upon entry. 

Parking on Campus (as of July 1, 2025)

VIP/Hospitality Parking - Reserved parking in the Sherrill Center Parking Deck (P09) is available to Bulldog Club members at the "Rocky Level" and above. For information on how to join the Bulldog Club and qualify for VIP Parking and Hospitality passes, contact BulldogClub@unca.edu or visit www.uncabulldogs.com.

Pets

Only service animals are allowed inside Kimmel Arena. 

Alcohol

It is prohibited to bring alcohol into UNC Asheville sporting events.  Violators will be subject to removal and applicable legal action.

Arena Floor

Spectators are reminded they are strictly prohibited from rushing onto the court. Violators are subject to arrest. Absolutely no food or drink allowed on the arena floor.

ATM

There is no ATM located near Kimmel Arena.  The ticket office, merchandise store, and all concessions can take credit and debit cards.

Bag Search

UNC Asheville has implemented a clear bag policy.  Only clear 12"x12" bags or gallon size storage bags or small clutches are allowed and are subject to search.  For additional information, click here. Guests may bring in a bag that does not meet the clear bag specifications if it is required for a medical purpose. Guests carrying medically necessary bags or equipment into a venue will be required to have their bag inspected and tagged by security. For questions about medical equipment or other needs please contact the Athletics Operations office at 828-251-6930. Diapers and other baby supplies can be carried in a clear bag. Each member of a family, including children, would be allowed to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse into the venue.

Banners, Posters, and Signs
Banners, posters, and signs are welcome inside any UNC Asheville athletic facility. In order to guarantee the best game day experience of other patrons, fans should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Size should not exceed 24 by 36 inches.
  • Should be individually hand held (by one person only).
  • Banners, posters, and signs should not contain any advertising, political or commercial message, derogatory or offensive language/logos, and should not be affixed to sticks, poles, or other objects for support.
  • Content of the banners, posters and signs should comply with all Big South Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Banners, posters and signs are not to be affixed to any part of the athletic facility without prior approval
  • UNC Asheville Athletics reserves the right to determine the acceptability of the content of the sign and to confiscate any banner, poster, or sign that violates this policy.

Cameras/Video Equipment
Still cameras are permitted for UNC Asheville athletic events; however, in no instance may photography interfere with access ways, aisles, or other guests' enjoyment of the game.  Video cameras are not permitted.

Code of Conduct

The Big South Conference and its member institutions are committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all fans.  Spectators are reminded that behavior contrary to the Fan Code of Conduct posted throughout UNC Asheville facilities may result in immediate ejection from the premises.  

Concessions
No outside food or beverage may be brought inside the complex.  Concession stands open 60 minutes prior to Tip-Off.  Stands are located at the front of the arena near the Ticket Office behind Section 11 and in the rear of the Arena behind Section 7.  Additional food and beverage stations may be open along the Concourse.

First Aid
For assistance in any first aid emergency, please contact a Public Safety Officer, any event staff member, or UNC Asheville Athletics staff.

Gates
Gates will open one (1) hour prior to tip off.

Game Programs
UNC Asheville game programs will be available at the Athletics Marketing table located near the main entrance to the arena.

UNC Asheville Gear

Rocky's Doghouse is located on the concourse level near the Arena Entrance. Gear can also be purchased online at ShopUNCA.com

Guest Services & Lost and Found
For any questions, concerns, inquiries concerning lost or found items, or assistance, please contact any event staff member or UNC Asheville Athletics staff. Please contact 828-258-7900 to locate a lost and found item following your event. UNC Asheville is not responsible for lost or stolen property.

Parking

Fans may pay to park in the Sherrill Center Parking Deck (P9) while spots are available for men's games and doubleheaders.  Parking Lots P8,P10, P11,P12,P14,P15, and P16 are all within walking distance to Kimmel Arena.

If your group will be bringing a bus to cheer on the Bulldogs, please notify the Ticket Office at 828-258-7900 ahead of time for further instructions about parking.
 
Prohibited Items & Behaviors
In order to ensure the safety and security of spectators, student-athletes, and staff, the following items and activities are prohibited inside UNC Asheville Athletic venues.

  • Outside Food or Drink
  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Illegal Substances/Activities
  • Artificial Noisemakers
  • Signage Sticks or Poles
  • Backpacks/Bags over 8" x 11" x 12"
  • Offensive Language/Signage
  • Dangerous or Disruptive Behavior
  • Running
  • Smoking or tobacco products including smokeless varieties such as electronic cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vapor cigarettes.
  • Solicitation or distribution of handouts
  • The throwing of any objects

Recycling
UNC Asheville Recycling is asking for your support in keeping the parking lots and athletic facilities clean by recycling your aluminum, glass, and plastic.  Recycling bins are strategically placed beside every trash can, so be looking for the recycling containers out there this year and RECYCLE with Rocky!
 
Restrooms
Restroom facilities are located at the front and back concourse at Kimmel Arena.  Diaper changing facilities are located in both the men's and women's restrooms.
 
Stadium Re-entry
Re-entry is not allowed at Kimmel Arena.
 
Tickets/General Information
Tickets for UNC Asheville Athletic events can be purchased on the day of the game at the ticket windows.  Additionally, fans can purchase tickets online and either print at home or request tickets be held at will call for increase

All persons, five (5) years of age and up, must have a ticket for admission into Kimmel Arena for Athletics events.Ticket holders are restricted to seating in the location that appears on their ticket and agree to abide by facility and University policies, as well as State and Federal laws. All persons entering the arena are subject to search.
