2021-22 Season (Senior) - In her fourth season with the Bulldogs, McVay competed in 10 meets for Asheville in 2021-22...Logged four top-10 finishes on the season...Helped Asheville's 4x400m relay (7th - 4:28.78) and Distance Medley Relay (4th - 13:09.32) teams finish in the top-10 at the Keydet Invitational...Set a new personal-best time in the mile run at the Buccaneer Track & Field Invitational in early February (5:35.40)...Appeared at the Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships for Asheville where she took part in the 800-meter run (17th - 2:35.30) and mile run (16th - 5:38.25)...Nearly nabbed a podium finish at the Montreat Invitational in the 3000-meter steeplechase (4th - 12:28.61)...Closed out the season at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships where she placed 10th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:17.31.Â
2020-21 Season (Junior) - McVay competed in five meets during the shortened 2020-21 track & field season...Helped the Bulldog 4x400-meter relay team notch a podium finish at the Winthrop Spring Invitational with a time of 4:15.34 (3rd)...Also competed in 800-meter and 1500-meter runs as a junior...McVay closed out her junior season by competing at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the first time in her career...At the Championships, McVay ran in the 1500-meter run and placed 16th with a time of 5:07.07
2019-20 Season (Sophomore) - As a sophomore, McVay took part in five meets for Asheville...Logged a podium finish at the Appalachian Open Indoor Meet by placing third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:39.45.
2018-19 Season (Freshman) - McVay appeared in seven meets for the Bulldogs during her freshman season in 2018-19...She made her Bulldog debut at the Appalachian Open in late November/December...Competed mainly in the 800-meter run and relays as a freshman...Logged a personal-best time in the 400-meter dash at the Terrier Relays clocking in at 1:08.54.
Before UNC Asheville: Lettered in swimming, cross country and track and field ... Part of NCHSAA 3A West Regional district championship team (2015 and 2016) ... Received the cross country coaches' award in 2016 and was named the 2017 cross country MVP ... Was a state qualifier in the 800m ... Finished in the top-10 of high school class.
