2020 Season (Freshman): Chastain appeared in three games and made one start in his first season with UNC Asheville in 2020...He made his collegiate debut on February 26 at Tennessee...Notched first career hit on March 1 at Belmont where he made his first career start as the designated hitter. 

Before UNC Asheville: Chastain joins the UNC Asheville baseball program out of Franklin High School in Franklin, N.C. The infielder was also a three-year letterwinner in basketball at Franklin. A three-time all-conference selection, Chastain is also a two-time All-WNC selection. Chastain was also a two-time conference Player of the Year. He finished his high school career with a .396 batting average to go along with 112 hits and 91 RBIs. As a senior, Chastain boasted a .413 batting average to go along with 31 hits, 28 RBIs and five home runs.
