2022 Season (5th Year Senior) - In his fifth and final season of collegiate baseball, Banks appeared in six games for Asheville in 2022...The Asheville native logged a total of 7.1 innings on the mound, struck out five hitters, and held opposing hitters to a .136 batting average...Tossed a season-high 2.2 scoreless innings at Elon on April 15 and struck out three...Five of his six appearances were scoreless outings...At the conclusion of the season, Banks had a 1.23 ERA and closed out his Bulldog career with a 3.67 ERA in 27 innings pitched.Â
2021 Season (Senior) - During the 2021 season, Banks appeared in 12 games mainly out of the bullpen...Made his first career start on March 23 vs. Gardner-Webb...Posted a 2-1 record with 14 innings pitched to go with eight strikeouts...Was the winning pitcher vs. Radford on March 26 and against Presbyterian on April 6...Logged a season-high two innings pitched on four separate occasions...In five of his 12 appearances, Banks held the opposing team scoreless in his outing...Had a scoreless inning streak of 4.1 covering games at High Point, Charleston Southern and USC Upstate in mid-March. Â
2020 Season (Junior) - In his first season in a Bulldog uniform, Banks appeared in four games...He made his UNC Asheville debut on February 23 against UAB...Overall, Banks logged 5.2 innings on the mound...Registered six strikeouts...Held opponents to an .136 batting average...Did not allow an earned run in 2020...Posted a 0.77 WHIP...Had a season-high four strikeouts against Belmont on February 29.Â
Prior to UNC Asheville -Â Banks joins the UNC Asheville baseball program after two years at Catawba Valley Community College. During his freshman season in 2018 opponents hit just .209 against him and he recorded a 1.54 ERA. As a sophomore in 2019, Banks had 32 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched. Banks was incredibly impressive as a senior at AC Reynolds High School with 63 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched. He owned a 1.77 ERA and opponents hit just .179 against him. He also owned a career batting average of .378. Banks was an all-conference, All-WNC and all-state selection during his prep career.
