Thomas Johnson Added as Director of Baseball Operations

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Thomas Johnson has been added to the UNC Asheville Baseball staff as the program's new Director of Operations, announced today (Monday, Sept. 28) by head coach Alex Raburn.

Johnson has spent the last several years in College Station, Texas in various capacities, most recently working with D1Baseball on their SEC-focused social media in 2025.

"We're really excited to welcome Thomas Johnson to Asheville and have him join our baseball program as our new Director of Baseball Operations," said Raburn. "Thomas is someone who brings great energy, a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for being around baseball. He'll have a big role in helping with the day-to-day operations of our program and making sure we continue to do things the right way. I'm really looking forward to working with Thomas, getting to know him, and seeing the impact he will have on our players and our program. We couldn't be more excited to have him in Asheville and a part of our baseball family."

Prior to his time with D1Baseball, he worked as an intern with 643Charts. While he was a student at Texas A&M, he worked with the baseball program in the areas of media and recruiting support. Prior to working with the Aggies Baseball program, he spent some time working with Prep Baseball Report in the state of Texas. Alongside his work with Prep Baseball Report, he is also the founder and a content contributor to AggieBaseballToday that covers Texas A&M Baseball.

"I'm extremely grateful to Coach Raburn for the opportunity to join the UNC Asheville Baseball program," said Johnson. "I'm ready to get to work, build relationships and do whatever I can to help this program succeed. I'm excited to be a Bulldog and can't wait to get this season started."

Johnson holds a Master of Science in Sport Management (2026) and a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications and Media Studies (2024), both from Texas A&M.
