ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's golf team sets to host the French Broad Collegiate Invitational at the Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Arden, N.C. on Sunday and Monday (Nov. 6-7).

About the Tournament Field - Participating in the match play tournament field alongside the Bulldogs will be some Big South competition in USC Upstate and Gardner-Webb, along with Tennessee Tech out of the Ohio Valley Conference.

About the Bulldogs - UNC Asheville is averaging 304.83 as a team so far through four tournaments. Gold leads all players with a 74.33 scoring average through 12 rounds, while Venecia Zaia also has averaged a mark of 75.83 through 12 rounds. Kayla Benge has put together an average of 77.42, while Phoebe Carles has averaged 78.00 so far this year. Hailey Pendleton and Amber Capote have each averaged 80.44 through four tournaments played this season.

Last Time Out - The Bulldogs finished fourth out of eight teams at Wofford's Terrier Intercollegiate back on Oct. 24-25, led by a second-place individual finish from Madyson Gold. Gold shot 218 for the tournament (76-71-71). Gold, who birdied a tournament-high 11 holes this week, continues her stellar start to the season as she has now carded three rounds of under par this fall. This already matches a program record for under-par rounds for a Bulldog for a single season. In addition to Gold, Venecia Zaia (81-69-81-231) and Kayla Benge (80-76-75-231) finished tied for 20th with scores of +15 over 54 holes. Zaia shot the lowest round of the week for Asheville checking in at a -3 (69). Furthermore, Zaia had a hole-in-one on the third hole during her second round three-under-par performance. Rounding out the scores for Asheville were the duo of Hailey Pendleton with a +25 (76-81-84-241) and Phoebe Carles checking in at +28 (85-81-78-244).

Model of Consistency - As a team, the Bulldogs have finished in the top five in three of their last four tournaments, most recently bringing home a fourth-place finish at the Terrier Intercollegiate.
