Arts, Madson Earn WGCA All-American Scholar Honors

07.13.2026 | Women's Golf

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's golfers Jordyn Arts and Lauren Madson have been named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars for the 2025-26 academic year, the organization announced Monday (July 13).

The WGCA recognized 1,551 women's collegiate golfers across all divisions as All-American Scholars, honoring student-athletes who have excelled both on the course and in the classroom.

The criteria for selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team are among the most stringent in collegiate athletics. To earn the honor, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, remain on their team's roster through the conclusion of the season, and compete in at least 50 percent of the team's regularly scheduled rounds through the conference championship.

Arts and Madson continue to be leaders for the Bulldogs on and off the course. Both played key roles in one of the most successful seasons in program history, helping lead UNC Asheville to its first tournament championship since 2019 with a victory at the Low Country Intercollegiate while contributing to the Bulldogs' second-place finish at the Big South Championship.

Arts played in 11 tournaments this year for Asheville and her best finish of the season was a fifth-place showing at The Velvet Classic. She finished the year with a 76.3 scoring average.

Madson played in 12 tournaments and earned Golfer of the Week honors following her performance at the Tiger Classic, where she finished fifth out of 70 golfers with a 4-under-par performance. Her 140 (-4) set a new program record for the lowest 36-hole total. Madson recorded four top-10 finishes during the season and posted a 77.3 scoring average.

This marks another academic distinction for the duo after both were recognized on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team earlier this summer.
