Bulldogs Shoot Best Round on Final Day of Red Sky Classic

WOLCOTT, Colo. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team wrapped up play at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic on Wednesday (Sept. 23), closing the three-day tournament with its best team round of the week at the Red Sky Golf Club Fazio Course.
The Bulldogs carded a final-round 299 (+11), improving from rounds of 304 and 306 over the first two days. Asheville finished the tournament in 20th place with a three-round total of 909 (+45).
Jordyn Arts highlighted the final day for Asheville, firing a three-under 69 for the Bulldogs' lowest round of the tournament. After opening with rounds of 83 and 76, Arts climbed the leaderboard on Wednesday to finish tied for 93rd with a 228 (+12).
Breanna Hoese led Asheville on the individual leaderboard for the week, finishing tied for 86th at 10-over par. Hoese posted rounds of 76, 74 and 76 to finish with a three-day total of 226.
Praelyn Jirasaraikul finished tied for 98th following rounds of 77, 77 and 76 for a 230 (+14), while Carly Sherman finished 102nd at 232 (+16) after rounds of 74, 80 and 78. Kate Bennett rounded out Asheville's lineup with a 234 (+18), finishing 104th after scores of 77, 79 and 78.
Asheville finished the tournament with 150 pars and 32 birdies. Sherman was particularly strong on the par-3 holes, playing them at three-under for the tournament with a 2.75 scoring average.
Southern California captured the team title at 47-under par.
