Hoese Leads Bulldogs Through Two Rounds of Golfweek Red Sky Classic

WOLCOTT, Colo. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team completed the second round of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic on Tuesday (Sept. 22) at the Red Sky Golf Club Fazio Course.

The Bulldogs carded a 306 (+18) in Tuesday's second round and sit in 20th place with a 36-hole score of 610 (+34). The tournament features a 20-team field competing on the par-72, 6,383-yard Fazio Course.

Breanna Hoese moved into the lead for Asheville, as she improved by two strokes from Monday with a 2-over 74 on Tuesday. Hoese sits tied for 71st overall at 6-over 150 following rounds of 76 and 74.

Praelyn Jirasaraikul followed with a 5-over 77 in the second round. She enters Wednesday's final round tied for 94th at 10-over 154 after posting back-to-back rounds of 77.

Carly Sherman is also tied for 94th at 10-over after rounds of 74 and 80. Sherman has been especially strong on the par-3 holes through the opening two rounds, playing them at 4-under with a 2.50 scoring average.

Kate Bennett finished Tuesday with a 7-over 79 and sits in 100th place at 12-over 156, while Jordyn Arts made a seven-stroke improvement from the opening round, firing a 4-over 76 on Tuesday. Arts enters the final round tied for 102nd at 15-over 159.
