Arts and Madson Named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Jordyn Arts and Lauren Madson of the UNC Asheville women's golf team have earned Academic All-District® honors from College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday, June 16.
This marks the fourth consecutive year the women's golf program has had a student-athlete recognized on the Academic All-District® Team.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District® Team, a student-athlete must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and be a sophomore or above. The nominee must also have competed in at least 70 percent of the team's scoring events throughout the season.
Arts played in 11 tournaments this year for Asheville and helped the Bulldogs advance to match play at the Big South Women's Golf Championship. She also helped Asheville earn its first tournament victory since 2019 at the Low Country Intercollegiate, where she finished 15th out of 79 competitors. Arts' best finish of the season was a fifth-place showing at The Velvet Classic. She finished the year with a 76.3 scoring average.
Madson played in 12 tournaments this year and helped the Bulldogs advance to match play at the Big South Women's Golf Championship. She earned Golfer of the Week honors following her performance at the Tiger Classic, where she finished fifth out of 70 golfers with a 4-under-par performance. Her 140 (-4) set a new program record for the lowest 36-hole total. Madson recorded four top-10 finishes during the season and posted a 77.3 scoring average.
