About the Bulldogs
UNC Asheville opened their 2020 season last weekend at Samford and dropped all three games to the best team in the Southern Conference a year ago and then turned around and faced Southern Conference preseason favorite, as voted on by league coaches, Wofford Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs gave Wofford all the Terriers could handle as UNC Asheville led for much of the game after scoring five runs in the top of the first inning. The Terriers took their first lead of the game in the seventh and the Bulldogs battled back in the eighth to tie the game before Wofford won it in the ninth on a sacrifice fly. Four Bulldogs had multi-hit games versus Wofford and MJ Lucas led UNC Asheville with three RBIs.
About the Blazers
UAB has begun the season with a 1-3 record after hosting Notre Dame to open the season and dropping their first road game to Jacksonville State in a midweek matchup, Wednesday. The Blazers lost games one and three to the Fighting Irish as UAB scored only five combined runs in those two games. The Blazers did get the best of Notre Dame in game two of the series as they scored 10 runs to defeat the Irish 10-7. UAB dropped their midweek to Jacksonville State, 5-3.
