03.22.2019 | Baseball
BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Behind solid pitching and a three-run second inning, the UNC Asheville baseball team handed the reigning Big South Champions Campbell its first league loss of the season, 3-0, at Jim Perry Stadium on Friday.
Starting pitcher Jordan Carr alongside relievers Eric Whitecavage and Kole Harris shut out the reigning Big South Champions and limited the Camels to just five hits. It was the first time this year Campbell has been shut out and the first time since a 4-0 loss to No. 14 Duke a year ago.
The win for UNC Asheville also extends its win streak to three straight, which is the second time the Bulldogs have done so this season. The three straight Big South victories marks the first time the Bulldogs have accomplished this feat since the 2016 campaign.
