Women’s Golf Set to Begin 2026 Portion of Season at Babs Steffens Invitational

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After the most successful fall season in program history, the UNC Asheville women's golf team turns its attention to spring as the Bulldogs open the 2026 portion of the season at the Babs Steffens Invitational Feb. 23-24.
The 54-hole event will include 36 holes Monday (Feb. 23) and the final 18 holes Tuesday (Feb. 24). Live scoring will be here.
The tournament will be played in DeBary, Fla., at the DeBary Country Club. The club's course features a 6,085-yard, par-72 layout.

In addition to UNC Asheville, and tournament host Stetson, the field will also include App State, Troy, Georgia State, West Georgia, North Alabama, Drake, Southern Illinois, Southern Utah, Bryant, Le Moyne, Mount Mercy, Keiser, Seminole State and Palm Beach State.
FALL RECAP
The Bulldogs are coming off a record-setting fall campaign that saw the program post five top-three finishes — the most in program history — including three runner-up results. Asheville collected four Golfer of the Week honors, with Caroline Patterson earning the recognition three times, and finished the fall with a 297.06 team scoring average. The team reached its highest national ranking ever at No. 93 and rewrote multiple program records, including the lowest single round (7-under-par 281) and lowest 36-hole score (574). Asheville also recorded the program's first-ever under-par tournament finish, while Lauren Madson set an individual school record with a 36-hole total of 140 (-4).
