TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Bulldogs Head to Colorado for Golfweek Red Sky Classic

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team heads to Wolcott, Colorado, to compete in the Red Sky Classic, hosted by GolfWeek this Monday-Wednesday (Sept. 22-24).

LAST TIME OUT
For a second this season, the Bulldogs brought hardware back to Asheville with a second-place finish out of 16 teams at The Velvet Classic.
The Bulldogs finished the tournament with a 3-round score of 896. Pennie Osterberg finished the 54 holes in a four-way tie for first and went on to compete in a playoff hole that was won by Troy's Constanza Quiroga. Osterberg shot rounds of 73-73-75. Jordyn Arts and Breanna Hoese joined Osterberg with top-10 finishes. Arts played the best tournament of her career, finishing tied for fifth with rounds of 73-75-75, and Hoese finished in a three-way tie for ninth with rounds of 74-76-75.
LAST YEAR AT THE RED SKY CLASSIC
This will be the second year in a row that Asheville has competed in the Red Sky Classic. Patterson led last year's squad as she finished the three-round tournament tied in 32nd at 4-over par. As a team, Asheville finished last year's tournament 11th out of 16 teams at +25.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The Red Sky Classic format will be 54 holes (18-18-18) with 12 p.m. (EST) tee times on Monday and Tuesday and an 11:15 a.m. (EST) shotgun start on Wednesday.
