Bulldogs Close Out Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge with Sixth-Place Finish

DAY THREE RESULTS 

PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC - The UNC Asheville women's golf team shot its lowest round of the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge on Wednesday to finish the tournament in sixth place with a three-round score of 893 (+41). 

PLAYING SUMMARY

Asheville shot rounds of 306-294-293 to improve by four spots following the completion of the first 18 holes of play. 

The Bulldogs jumped ahead of Fairleigh Dickinson, who led Asheville by four strokes following the completion of yesterday's second round. The Knights shot rounds of 296-300-305 to fall to seventh, and Asheville finished seven strokes ahead. The Bulldogs finished ahead of Big South Conference rivals USC Upstate (ninth) and Winthrop (11th).

PLAYER SUMMARY 

Caroline Patterson moved up seven spots following her one-under par finish on Wednesday, as she tied for 12th with rounds of 77-72-70. Patterson had four birdies through her 18 holes of play, two on the front nine and two on the back. Patterson led Asheville with eight birdies over the three days of play. 

Beryl Giletti also tied for 12th with rounds of 74-70-75. She had six birdies through her 54 holes of play.

Morgan Guepet finished tied for 21st with rounds of 75-76-72. She was 3-over par to finish the front nine before shooting 2-under par on the back nine to finish one-over par in round three. 

Ally Kerr improved by five spots with a 76 in the third round to finish tied for 59th. Kerr shot rounds of 81-77-76. 

Jordyn Arts rounded out the starting five by finishing in a tie for 68th with rounds of 80-76-82. 

As an individual, Claudia Salvador finished in 20th place with rounds of 74-76-72. Her one-over par finish on the day featured an eagle on hole eight.
