Four Bulldogs Make Their Asheville Debut at Tiger Classic

CLEMSON, S.C. – The UNC Asheville Women's Golf team opened its 2024-25 season on Monday, as the Bulldogs competed in the Tiger Classic, hosted by Clemson University.
The one-day 36-hole tournament featured 16 teams, and the Bulldogs finished in eighth with a two-round score of 602 (26-over). Of the four teams competing from the Big South Conference, Asheville finished in the lead, with USC Upstate finishing 13th, Gardner-Webb in 15th, and Presbyterian in 16th.
HOW THE BULLDOGS PLACED
Junior transfer Caroline Patterson led the Bulldogs, finishing tied for 27th, shooting rounds of 75 and 73 (4-over). Beryl Giletti led Asheville through the first round as she shot for par. She shot a 77 in the second round and tied for 32nd (5-over).
Morgan Guepet and Kate Bennett, who competed individually, finished tied for 52nd. Guepet shot a 77 and a 76, and Bennett shot a 74 and 79. Jordyn Arts tied for 56th with two rounds of 77, and Ally Kerr rounded out the Bulldogs with rounds of 80 and 75 to finish tied for 60th.
"With so many golfers new to the program, it was good to go out and get balls in the air and see what we are all about," said Head Coach Ross Cash. "There was some good to be sure and plenty to work on, but it was a good first step. We are a better team than we showed in this first event, but overall, I'm fairly pleased with the event."
