"Honestly, this one stings a little because I know we can play better than this," said head coach Ross Cash. "As a coach, I want nothing but the best for my team, but I also need to weigh that frustration against how far the program has come this year. All of us in the van coming home feel frustrated over a third-place finish in an elite field. To quantify that, there was a team in this field that we also played against in our first event of the year. In New Orleans they beat us by 25 shots, and in this event, we beat them by 32. Those 57 shots aren't an accident. It's tangible evidence of how much better we are from the beginning of the season. We will keep working."

The Bulldogs return to action next Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 3-4) at Appalachian State's Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate. The tournament will be played at Mimosa Hills Country Club in Morganton, N.C., with live results available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
