Women’s Golf closes out first tournament of the season Tuesday in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – The UNC Asheville women's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the 2022-23 season on Tuesday in New Orleans.
Asheville wrapped up its first tournament of the season with a 19-over 307 after shooting 14-over 302 and an 18-over 306 on Monday.
Individually, Madyson Gold matched her score from her first round of the week with a 2-over 74 on Tuesday. In doing so, she posted the best finish for Asheville checking in a tie for 52nd place with a score of 7-over 223.
Venecia Zaia shot the lowest score by a Bulldog on Tuesday with a 1-over 73. Included in Zaia's round were four birdies to go with 10 pars.
Other scores by Asheville on the day were Phoebe Carles coming in at 3-over 75, Amber Capote and Hailey Pendleton identical with a 7-over 79 final tallies, and an 8-over 80 by Kayla Benge.
Asheville will have some time before its next tournament, which will be October 3-4 in Jupiter, Florida.
