Men’s soccer travels to Presbyterian Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Having not played in almost two weeks, the UNC Asheville men's soccer team returns to the pitch on Saturday, traveling to Presbyterian to face the Blue Hose at 7:00 p.m.
A look at the Bulldogs
Asheville, which had last weekend's scheduled game with Gardner-Webb moved to April 11, is 2-2-1 on the season and in Big South play. The Bulldogs are battling for a berth in the Big South Championship, sitting at No. 5 with the top four teams making the tournament. Asheville has gotten goals from five players, while Miles Peay has dished out on assist each game. Peay's average of 1.0 assists per game is third in all of Division I and his five total assists, rank 12th in the nation despite only playing five games. Freshman Leon Musial has been a beast, leading the Big South in saves per game with an average of 4.0.
Scouting the Blue Hose
Presbyterian is 3-4-1 on the season, going 1-4-1 in conference play. The Blue Hose claimed their first Big South win last Sunday against Radford, topping the Highlanders 1-0 on the road. Presbyterian has scored 13 goals this year, with eight different goal scorers. Mamadu Bah has buried four goals this season, while Cesar Sancho has scored three. The Blue Hose have used four different goalkeepers, with Valentin Kliebe appearing in five of the eight matches and totaling 16 saves.
Series History
Presbyterian and UNC Asheville have met 14 times in their history, with the Bulldogs going 8-2-4 overall. The Bulldogs have won five of the last seven matches overall including a 2-1 victory in Asheville in 2019. The last time the two sides met in Clinton, Presbyterian prevailed 5-1. Asheville is 4-0-3 at Greenwood Field against the Blue Hose.
