Baseball Entertains Presbyterian for Three-Game Big South Conference Series at Greenwood Field

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – To cap off seven home games in the last eight contests, the UNC Asheville baseball team welcomes Presbyterian to Asheville, as the two Big South Conference rivals will start a three-game series on Friday, April 6, at Greenwood Field.
Projected Starters
Friday: So. LHP Greg Gasparro (1-4, 4.95 ERA) vs. Sr. LHP Tanner Chock (2-1, 4.54 ERA)
Saturday: Sr. RHP Nick Boyles (0-0, 6.06 ERA) vs. R-Sr. RHP Will Smith (1-2, 8.27 ERA)
Sunday: R-So. LHP Jordan Carr (2-3, 5.75 ERA) vs. R-So RHP Jackson Dean (0-0, 3.15 ERA)
About the Bulldogs
UNC Asheville enters the home conference series with an 8-20 overall record and a 4-5 mark in Big South play. In their last five games, the Bulldogs have a respectable 2-3 record with wins over Campbell and Western Carolina.
In the last five contests, Asheville is hitting at a .284 average with 39 runs scored, and five Bulldogs are hitting .300 or higher during that stretch. Jake Madole is leading the surge, as he is hitting at a .381 clip. He also has eight hits, as half have been doubles. He has collected a team-high eight RBIs and touched home five times. Presbyterian enters the weekend series with a 10-21 overall record and a 4-5 mark in league play. In their last five games, they are 3-2, and in the last 10 contests, the Blue Hose are 5-5. In Big South play, they were swept by Winthrop to open league play, but PC has now won four out of the last six league games.
PC has a pair of players that are clicking offensively this season in A.J. Priaulx and Jonathan White. Priaulx has a team-leading .417 batting average in 31 starts.
