Another Record-Breaking Arby's Education Day Includes Dominating 61-Point Win for Women's Basketball

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – In front of another record-breaking attendance (2,893 fans), the UNC Asheville women's basketball team raced past Warren Wilson, 92-31, on Monday morning inside Kimmel Arena.
The Education Day game, which was presented by Arby's, featured 13 different Bulldogs scoring in the 61-point victory.

The opening quarter was tightly contested, as Asheville only had a four-point lead (15-11) on the Owls. Nadiria Evans led the Bulldog offense with four points, as the sophomore made a field goal and a pair of free throws.
The four-point advantage quickly increased, as it became a 25-point advantage (40-15) at the halftime break. In the second stanza, Ali Trani led the Asheville surge. The senior guard totaled six points and grabbed three boards. Jessica Wall and Evonna McGill added five points each to add to the Bulldog lead.
At the 15-minute intermission, Wall had a game-high eight points. Jimeshia Lawson led both teams with five rebounds, including three on the offensive glass. Sonora Dengokl and Trani contributed six points each in the first 20 minutes of play.
The Bulldogs continued to add to their lead, as they outscored the Owls by 19 points in the third quarter and 17 points in the fourth quarter. Eight different Bulldogs scored in the third stanza, and in that same quarter, Dengokl and Evans tallied six points each. In the final 10 minutes of action, seven Bulldogs scored, as Evans led Asheville with another six points.
Evans led UNC Asheville in the second half with 12 points. The sophomore from Gainesville, Fla. went 4-for-6 from the field and grabbed five rebounds. Dengokl nearly had double figures in the second half, as she scored nine points.
Overall, Evans led both squads with 17 points, which is a new career high for the guard. She went an impressive 5-for-8 from the hardwood and converted on seven free throws.
Three other Bulldogs finished in double figures - Dengokl (15 points), Wall (11 points) and Trani (10 points).
McGill also set a single-game best with nine points and seven rebounds.
Lawson totaled a career-high nine rebounds, including four boards on the offensive glass. Trani posted a team-high five offensive rebounds.
UNC Asheville led in most statistical categories, including rebounds (62-30), assists (11-5), steals (13-10), free-throws made (26-3), field goals made (30-12) and offensive rebounds (24-11).
The Bulldogs finished the last 30 minutes outscoring Warren Wilson by 57 points (77-20).
UNC Asheville moves to 4-3 overall on the year, as Warren Wilson stays at 3-7 on the season.
