BULLDOG BITES

About UNC Asheville

UNC Asheville welcomes the Terriers to Kimmel Arena with a 2-2 overall mark. The Bulldogs are in the midst of a two-game winning streak, as they downed Western Carolina and Davidson on their home hardwood.

Jessica Wall has been on a tear in the two-game win streak, as she has scored 37 of her 48 points this season in that stretch (18.5 points per game). In that same stretch, the senior guard has gone 12-for-21 from the hardwood, as all 12 of her made field goals were three-pointers. She has also earned seven assists and four steals as well.

Sonora Dengokl has also stayed consistent for UNC Asheville, as the senior has tallied double-figures in all four games this year. In the two-game win streak, the Sumter, S.C. native has totaled 34 points, made 12 field goals and has gone 10-for-11 from the free-throw line. On the year, Dengokl is shooting .472 percent (25-for-53) and is averaging 29 minutes per contest.

The Bulldogs have been red hot behind the three-point arc this season, as they are shooting .324 percent beyond the arc (23-for-71). They are averaging 5.8 three-pointers made per game. Defensively, the Bulldogs are averaging 37.2 rebounds per game and 7.5 steals per contest.

Scouting Wofford

Wofford travels to Asheville with a 3-3 overall record. Like the Bulldogs, the Terriers are also on a two-game win streak, as they have upended College of Charleston and Winthrop in Spartanburg, S.C. In that two-game stretch, the Terriers defeated the Cougars by 20 points and the Eagles by 17 points.

Chloe Wanink continues to be a force on the hardwood for Wofford, as the guard has started in all six games and averages 32.5 minutes per contest. She is averaging 20.7 points per game, which tops the Terrier squad. Jackie Carman (13.0) and Jamari McDavid (11.5) are also averaging double-figures.

McDavid has been a force on the glass too, as the forward is averaging seven rebounds per game. Marissa Bayer is right behind her teammate, as the 6-foot-1 forward is averaging six rebounds per contest. Bayer leads Wofford in total blocks with seven.

All-Time History Versus the Terriers

Sunday's matchup is the 14th all-time meeting between the two clubs, and UNC Asheville holds a narrow 7-6 advantage all-time. The Bulldogs and Terriers have met on the hardwood for six straight years, and both teams have won on their home court the last two meetings.

In last year's meeting in Spartanburg, Wofford edged Asheville, 70-68. Wofford's Cairo Booker broke the 68-all tie with 30 seconds left in regulation, as she connected with a jumper to claim the victory for her team.

Three Bulldogs tallied double-digits with Wall leading the way with 17 points. She went 6-for-9 from the field, including 5-for-8 beyond the three-point arc. Bronaza Fitzgerald tallied 14 points, while Zip Scott totaled 11 points on 4-for-7 shooting from the floor.

In the meeting two years ago in Kimmel Arena, Asheville downed Wofford, 84-65. Khaila Webb had an outstanding game, as she totaled 22 points on 10-for-13 shooting. Chatori Major and Ja'Da Brayboy combined for 32 points, while Tianna Knuckles contributed 11 points.
