Radford started the game quickly by taking six shots in the first 12 minutes of play. Asheville ended the Highlanders stretch, as James took the Bulldogs' first attempt of the game.
After eight more Highlander shots, Radford tallied the game's first goal in the 34th minute. Jasmine Casarez tallied the goal, which was her ninth of the season.

In the 75th minute, UNC Asheville's Kenzie McDowell had a prime chance to put the Bulldogs on the board. She took an attempt from inside the 18-yard box, but the shot hit the crossbar. Bella Iorio found the rebound a few seconds later and forced a shot on goal. The Radford goalkeeper made the save and kept Asheville off the scoreboard.
The Highlanders sealed the victory in the 87th minute, as they earned their third goal of the game. Unfortunately, it was an own goal for Asheville, as it deflected off a Bulldog and into their own net.
