Overview: Experienced player who should be a leader for the Bulldogs this year.
2008: Played both singles and doubles for the Bulldogs...won three matches in singles as the played at second, third and fourth flights...registered a win in his only match played at second flight...teamed up with Nathan White to 4-4 in doubles action.
2007: Enjoyed a successful rookie year for UNC Asheville as he went 7-6 in singles play and 3-1 during BSC competition...played at both #5 and #6 in singles...went 9-8 in doubles action as he played with four different partners throughout the season.
Before UNC Asheville: Four-year starter at J.H. Rose HS in Greenville, N.C. where he went 60-6 in his singles career and 70-4 in doubles career...junior year advanced to the state championship match in doubles...was named Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore...team MVP as a sophomore, junior and senior...was ranked sixth in the state as a senior and one of the top 200 players in the country...earned Sportsmanship Award at the Gator Bowl Tournament last year...helped lead Rose to third place finish in state tournament senior year...named to Junior Davis Cup team at age 15.
Coach Gregory Says: “Joseph has really good hands to make the transition from high school to college doubles. He is working very hard on improving his serve and backcourt game to be a high-quality singles player and to compliment his solid doubles play.”
