CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND! Bulldogs Punch Ticket to Big South Championship Match with 4-1 Win over Longwood

LEXINGTON, S.C. - UNC Asheville Men's Tennis is headed back to the Big South Conference Championship match after a 4-1 win over Longwood on Thursday (Apr. 17). This is the first time in the program's Division I history that Asheville has gone to back-to-back Big South Conference championship matches.

Asheville won two of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, before taking three singles matches to secure the ticket to the final.

Tarek Erlewein and Olle Sonesson Lidholt beat Petar Belosevic and Petter Lindquist 6-4 at No. 2 doubles, before Sai Gandepalli and Griffin Lovern beat Marko Mrdak and Alejandro Uribe 6-3 to clinch the doubles point.

Cian Ingles put Asheville up with a win by retirement, before Erlewein picked up a win by retirement at No. 2. Sai Gandepalli clinched the match with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Uribe at No. 4.
