Overview: Excellent hitter who enjoyed a great year for the Bulldogs in 2011...middle of the order hitter with good power and RBI production...last name is pronounced guide-us...
2011: Asheville's third-leading hitter with a .318 average...led team in RBI with 27...also led club in doubles at 15...played in 45 games and was DH for most of the year...was also used in the outfield and at first base...opened Bulldog career vs. Murray State (2-18) with two hits, two doubles and two RBI...went 3-for-3 with RBI against Racers (2-19)...had two hits in four straight games (3-19, 20, 22, 25) as he went 8-of-16 (.500) in that stretch...had two-run homer in win over Gardner-Webb (3-19)...enjoyed a big day in double-header sweep of High Point (4-17) with 6-for-10 performance, four RBI and three doubles...ended the season with great game against Presbyterian College (5-21) as he went 3-for-5 and three RBI...also had three RBI in win at Wofford (4-13)...picked up three hits in McCormick Field vs. Wofford (4-20)...had 17 multi-hit games.
Before UNC Asheville: Started in the outfield for Pasco and hit .264 with eight home runs and 27 RBI...was second on the club in homers and third in RBI...attended high school at Alonso in Tampa...hit .320 with four home runs as a senior...hit .330 with four home runs junior campaign...was named Most Improved Player following junior season.
