TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Caroline Patterson Set to Represent UNC Asheville at NCAA Chapel Hill Regional

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Caroline Patterson will make program history on Monday, May 11, becoming the first player in UNC Asheville women's golf history to compete in an NCAA Regional Tournament. Patterson is scheduled to tee off at 9:50 a.m. from the No. 10 tee at UNC Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Patterson enters the tournament as the No. 5 seed among the six individual competitors and will play alongside No. 4 seed Zoe Duval of App State and No. 6 seed Norah Seidl of Montana State.

For the first time in NCAA Regional history, coverage of the tournament will be live streamed through BabyGrandeGolf.com. Coverage from select holes, along with post-round interviews, will be available for $15 per day or $30 for the full 54-hole championship.

Patterson became the first individual in program history to both advance to NCAA Regional play and capture the Big South Championship individual title. Her championship performance featured rounds of 79-67-69 (-1), as she rallied from a tie for 26th after the opening round to secure medalist honors. Patterson's second-round 67 (-5) was one of the lowest rounds of the tournament and vaulted her into contention before she closed with a 3-under 69 in the final round to seal the victory.

Regional competition will take place May 11-13 across six sites nationwide, featuring 396 participants overall. Each regional includes 12 teams and six individual competitors. The top five teams from each site, along with the low individual not on an advancing team, will qualify for the NCAA Championships, scheduled for May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.

The Chapel Hill Regional will be contested at Finley Golf Course and hosted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
