Caroline Patterson Rewrites Record Book as Asheville Closes Regular Season

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team wrapped up play at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge on Wednesday (April 8), finishing eighth overall with a three-round total of 891 (+39). The Bulldogs posted team rounds of 301, 295, and 295 across the three-day event.
PATTERSON'S RECORD PERFORMANCE
Caroline Patterson paced Asheville, finishing third with rounds of 72-68-69 to post a 4-under-par 209. Patterson's performance marks the second under-par 54-hole tournament of her career and sets a new program record for lowest 54-hole score, breaking her previous mark of 3-under-par (213).
Patterson led the field with 40 pars, had eight birdies and was one of eight individuals with an eagle.
FELLOW BULLDOG PERFORMANCES
Breanna Hoese finished tied for 25th after posting rounds of 76-73-75 (+11), while Pennie Osterberg followed in a tie for 33rd with a 78-73-76 (+14), leading the team with nine birdies. Jordyn Arts carded rounds of 75-81-75 (+18) to tie for 52nd, improving 12 spots in the final round, and Lauren Madson rounded out the lineup with an 80-83-84 (+34) to finish 91st.
As a team, Asheville recorded 159 pars, 28 birdies, and one eagle over the three-day event.

Asheville finished second out of the four Big South schools that competed in the challenge, as Charleston Southern finished in fourth, just six strokes ahead of the Bulldogs.
