Bulldogs Enter Big South Women’s Golf Championship as No. 2 Seed

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's golf team is gearing up for the 2026 Big South Conference Women's Golf Championship, and the Bulldogs will enter the championship tournament as the No. 2 seed for the second straight season.
The Big South Conference released the seedings for the Championship on Thursday (April 16).
CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION
The Big South Women's Golf Championship will be held at the Ocean Creek Golf Course as part of the Fripp Island Golf and Beach Resort for the third consecutive year and will utilize a par 72, 6,032-yard layout to determine this year's champion. The 2026 Big South Women's Golf Championship begins Sunday, April 19, with a morning practice round followed by the first round of competition in the afternoon. A three-day, 54-hole stroke play event will be held April 19-21, followed by Match Play Semifinal & Final rounds on Wednesday, April 22, featuring the top four team finishers from stroke play. Live scoring for Stroke Play will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd. The 2026 champion from Match Play will receive the Big South's automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals. Following the conclusion of play on Tuesday, the Individual Awards Ceremony will commence, highlighting the 2026 All-Conference Team, All-Freshman Team, All-Academic Team, All-Championship Team, and the annual award winners. The team and runner-up trophies will be presented following Wednesday's Final.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulldogs last competed in the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge and finished the tournament in eighth place out of 19 teams. Caroline Patterson finished third after setting a program record for lowest 54-hole score with a 209 while also leading the entire tournament field in pars. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 112 in the nation by Clippd.
