Patterson, Asheville Sit Third After Day One at River Landing Classic

WALLACE, N.C. – After 36 holes of play, the UNC Asheville women's golf team sits in third place at the River Landing Classic, with Caroline Patterson pacing the Bulldogs individually in third on the leaderboard.
The Bulldogs sit in third with a team score of 618 (316-302). The Bulldogs shaved 14 strokes off their opening-round total to post a 302 in round two, jumping from fifth to third.
Caroline Patterson leads Asheville and stands third individually at +3 (73-74—147). Patterson opened with a one-over 73 before following with a steady 74 in the second round to remain near the top of the leaderboard.
Lauren Madson delivered a strong second round of even-par 72 to move into a tie for sixth at +5 (77-72—149), giving Asheville two players inside the top 10.
Breanna Hoese sits 22nd at +14 (82-76—158) after improving by six shots in round two. Sydney Craven is tied for 37th (84-80—164) and Carly Sherman (87-81—168) round out the Asheville lineup in a tie for 43rd.
As an individual, Katie Bennett is also tied for 37th (81-83–264).
UNCW leads the field at 580, followed by Kennesaw State at 595. App State closely follows Asheville with a 619, followed by St. John's in fifth with a 623.
