Western Carolina would stretch their lead to 11-1 with two runs in the third, two runs in the fifth and two runs in the sixth. Asheville would respond with three runs in the home half of the sixth, a frame that began with Corbin Lanowitz taking first on a one-out hit by pitch and advancing to second on a wild pitch. Logan Lowe would draw a walk behind him, before Rylen Stockton would watch his fourth home run of the season sail over the left field wall to put three on the board for Asheville. Western Carolina would add one in the top half of the seventh, before Asheville would respond with another three runs in the home half. The frame began with a one-out double by Coleman McGinnis and a walk to Isaac Turner, before Lanowitz was again hit by a pitch to load the bases. Lowe would step to the plate and clear the bases with a double to left center as Asheville trailed 12-7 headed to the eighth. Western would add one run in the eighth, before Asheville would erupt for six runs in the frame to tie the game. Minarik led off the inning being hit by a pitch, before Canon Pierce drew a pinch hit walk to put runners at first and second. After back-to-back outs were recorded, both runners advanced a base on a wild pitch before Lanowitz drew a walk to load the bases. Lowe would chop a full-count pitch back to the pitcher, reaching first as the ball was thrown away. Minarik scored on the play, while Pierce scored on the error and Lanowitz advanced to third. Stockton would put a ball in play that was thrown away by Western Carolina's third baseman allowing Lanowitz to score and pushing Lowe to third, before Patrick Gillen would put the exclamation point on the inning with a three-run tank off the light pole in right field for his third home run of the season to tie the game at 13. Western Carolina would score the game-winning run in the top of the ninth before closing the game down on the defensive end to get the win.
