After Edmondson's milestone strikeout came in the top half of the second, Asheville would strike for a 2-0 lead in the home half of the second. Patrick Gillen would lead off the inning with a single before advancing to second on a passed ball and third on a wild pitch. Canon Pierce would bring him home on a double to right field, before he himself would move to third on a wild pitch. Charlie Stogner would score Pierce on a one-out single through the right side. The teams traded runs in the third inning, with Asheville's run coming as Brock Mercado scored on a sacrifice fly by Blaize Johnson. The teams would trade blank frames into the seventh, when Edmondson turned the game over to the bullpen. Longwood struck for four runs in the top of the seventh and six in the top of the eighth, before it was Asheville's turn to play catch-up. Asheville would get three in the eighth, as the inning began with three straight hits. Back-to-back singles from Kolby Watson and Corbin Lanowitz set the stage, before Logan Lowe ripped a double down the left field line to score Watson and move Lanowitz to third. After Rylen Stockton drew a walk and the first out was recorded, Patrick Gillen laced a single through the right side that scored Lanowitz and Lowe. After Longwood tacked on an additional three runs in the top of the ninth, Asheville would plate four to bring the game to its final score. Owen Michelson began the inning with a pinch-hit single up the middle, before Watson singled to left center to put two runners on. A fly ball moved pinch runner Johnny Brucato to third, before he scored on a sacrifice fly by Lowe. Stockton would keep the two-out rally going with a single up the middle, before Mercado was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Gillen would rip a single through the right side to score Watson, as the hit was cut off by the second baseman. The second baseman threw the ball away attempting to make a play on Gillen, allowing Stockton to score and moving Mercado to third. Johnson would draw a walk to yet again load the bases, before Pierce would reach on another error in the infield to score Mercado before the third out was eventually recorded.
