Bulldogs Prepare for Huntsville.org Intercollegiate

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville Women's Golf team will play its second tournament of the spring season March 3-4 in the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate, hosted by Samford University.
So far this season: The Bulldogs finished sixth out of 14 teams at the Rivertowne Invitational, beating out four Big South Conference opponents (Charleston Southern, Radford, USC Upstate and Winthrop). Junior Caroline Patterson tied for second place, finishing the tournament with an even par score. Morgan Guepet earned Big South Conference Freshman of the Week honors following her performance. Guepet had the lowest first round for Asheville, as she shot a 74 in the opening round of play. Guepet closed the tournament with two rounds of 76 and finished tied for 20th at 10-over par. Guepet finished ninth among the 33 Big South competitors.

About the Tournament Field: The Bulldogs will be competing in Birmingham, Ala., with 11 other teams: Oakland University, Troy University, Tennessee Tech, Eastern Illinois University, University of West Georgia, University of North Alabama, Samford University, Presbyterian College, Belmont University, Bellarmine University, and Southern Illinois University.
