Bulldogs Cruise Past UNC Greensboro for Non-Conference Win on Saturday

GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis cruised to a 6-1 win over UNC Greensboro on Saturday (Feb. 8) in non-conference play.

Asheville captured the doubles point with two wins in doubles play, going on to win five of six singles matches on the day.

Angelina Joy Hug and Ari Siegel beat Olivia Gallagher and Alexandra Dodashev 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, before Valeria Centeno and Elizabeth Tindera beat Luna Urso and Lauren Thomson 6-2 at No. 3 to take the doubles point. Hug went on to beat Dodashev 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, while Tindera cruised past Raegen Mitchell 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. Louise Booker would take down Thomson 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4, before Julia Caffarena beat Sydney Bly 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5. Avery Sager would close things out with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Urso at No. 6.

The Bulldogs (5-1) return to action next Sunday (Feb. 16) to host Appalachian State in non-conference action. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m. from the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
