Brianna Moore and DaMarr Harvey Selected to Compete in NCAA Championships

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Brianna Moore and DaMarr Harvey of the UNC Asheville track and field team have qualified to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship East prelims. The Championship prelims will take place May 22-25 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.
"We are incredibly proud of Bree and DaMarr for this monumental achievement," Head Track & Field Coach Joel Williams said. "This is the third consecutive year that we have had two athletes qualify, and it's a first-time qualification for both of these individuals. Their dedication and hard work have been highly appreciated, and we are thrilled for this opportunity for them to compete at the highest level prior to the final NCAA Championship site."
Moore is just the third Bulldog to represent the women's team on the NCAA Championship stage. Bulldog Hall-of-Famer Natalie Pearson advanced to the prelims to compete in the 200m dash in 2010 and 2011, and Claudia Prieto advanced in 2022 and 2023 to compete in the long jump.
Moore has had a standout senior season, as she won the women's long jump at the Big South Conference Outdoor Championships with a personal best distance of 6.14m. Moore is No. 2 in program history in the long jump and No. 4 in Big South history.
Moore won the women's long jump at the Big South Conference Indoor Championships with a distance of 5.86m and holds the No. 2 distance in indoor program history.
Harvey is the fifth Bulldog to represent the men's team on the NCAA Championship stage. Nathan Hedgpeth went in 2003 and 2004 and competed in the shot put in both years and discus in 2004, Milan Ristic went in 2012 for the 110m hurdles, Matthew Harding went in 2017 to compete in the 800m dash, and Solomon McDonald went in 2022 and 2023 for shot put.
Harvey won the 200m dash at the Big South Outdoor Championships in 20.71 and holds the school record with his championship time.
Harvey will compete in the first round of the 200m dash on Wednesday, May 22, at 8:45 p.m. Moore will compete in the first round of the long jump at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 23. Live results and ESPN+ streaming links can be found HERE.
