Women's Tennis Set to Face Charleston Southern in the Big South Conference Championship

 ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's tennis is set to face Charleston Southern in the Big South Charleston Southern in the Big South Conference Championship on Sunday (Apr. 23). First serve is set for 3:00 p.m. from Marion Diehl Park in Charlotte, N.C. This is Asheville's first-ever trip to the Big South Conference Championship.

About the Bulldogs - The Bulldogs come into the championship at 16-1 on a 16-match winning streak, after capturing their first Big South Conference Regular Season Championship since 1989. Asheville comes into the semifinal with a combined 35-8 doubles record, as well as a combined 77-19 singles record. Second Team All-Conference doubles tandem Elizabeth Tindera and Valeria Centeno lead the way with 12 wins in doubles play, while First Team All-Conference doubles tandems Ari Siegel and Linge Steenkamp and Ami Grace Dougah and Rosie Dickson each have 11 wins in doubles play. Siegel and Beatrice Faureng also have one win as a doubles pair on the year. About the Buccaneers - Charleston Southern comes into the rematch at 14-7 overall after a 4-0 shutout of Gardner-Webb in the semifinals. The Buccaneers have a combined 72-38 doubles record on the season, along with a combined 33-27 singles record. Zoe Cauthen and Tiffany Pyritz lead the way in doubles play with 11 wins, while Khyanna Singh and Luiza Fullana also have 10 wins and Amelia Jusufbegovic and Noa Boyd also have nine wins in doubles play. Kassandra Di Staulo and Marina Skegro also have two wins in doubles play. Fullana leads the way in singles play with 13 wins, while Boyd is second on the team with 12 wins.
