Bulldogs Cruise Past Longwood for Saturday Big South Conference Win

FARMVILLE, Va. - UNC Asheville women's tennis cruised past Longwood for a 6-1 Big South Conference win on Saturday (Mar. 11).
The Bulldogs won the doubles point with two victories for a 1-0 lead, before winning five of six singles matches on their way to the victory.
Ami Grace Dougah and Rosie Dickson teamed up for a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Emma Nurgazieva and Karina Rizvanova, before Ari Siegel and Linge Steenkamp clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Maria Saez and Nina Hederich at No. 2. Dougah would go on to beat Nurgazieva 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Steenkamp beat Saez 7-6 (13-11), 6-0 at No. 2. Elizabeth Tindera would beat Sophia Marchetta 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3, while Avery Sager went on to beat Wiktoria Czerny 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 at No. 5. Valeria Centeno finished things off with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Hederich at No. 6.
