Women's Tennis Heads to Longwood on Saturday for a Big South Conference Clash

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's tennis heads to Longwood on Saturday (Mar. 11) for a Big South Conference regular season clash. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. at the Lancer Tennis Courts.

About the Bulldogs - The Bulldogs come into the matchup winners of 10 straight with a 10-1 record after a 6-1 win over North Carolina Central on Tuesday (Mar. 7). Asheville holds a combined 23-7 doubles record on the season, along with a combined 49-16 record in singles play. The tandems of Elizabeth Tindera and Valeria Centeno and Linge Steenkamp and Ari Siegel each have eight wins in doubles play, while Rosie Dickson and Ami Grace Dougah also have seven wins in doubles play. Dougah and Steenkamp each have 10 wins in singles play, while Tindera has eight and Centeno also has seven. Avery Sager and Dickson each have six wins in singles play, while Siegel and Beatrice Faureng each have one.  

About the Lancers - The Lancers come into the matchup with a 5-7 overall record after a 7-0 sweep of Coppin State on Thursday (Mar. 9). Longwood owns a combined 16-15 doubles record, as well as a combined 22-34 singles record. The doubles teams of Emma Nurgazieva and Karina Rizvanova and Sophia Marchetta and Wiktoria Czerny each have four wins, while Maria Saez and Nina Hederich have three wins in doubles play. Alexis Broderick and Zoe Barton as well as Rizvanova and Saez each have two wins in doubles play, while Hederich and Czerny also have one doubles win.
