Bulldogs Edge Davidson for Fifth Straight Win

DAVIDSON, N.C. - UNC Asheville women's tennis edged Davidson for its fifth straight win on Saturday (Feb. 4) by a score of 4-3.
The Bulldogs fell in doubles play for the first time this season, before rallying for four wins in singles play to take the match.
Ami Grace Dougah and Rosie Dickson picked up a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles over Emma Heiderscheit and Franny Shea for the only Bulldog win in doubles play. Dougah then beat Josie Schaffer 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Linge Steenkamp was able to grind out a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win over Heiderscheit at No. 2. Dickson beat Dani Porges 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 at No. 3, before Avery Sager defeated Shea 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 to clinch the victory for the Bulldogs.
Asheville (5-1) returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 11) at home against UNC Wilmington. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m. from the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
