Women's Tennis heads to Charleston for regular-season finale

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After a 7-0 win on Senior Day, UNC Asheville Women's Tennis will make the trek to Charleston Saturday afternoon for a dual with the number one team in the conference in Charleston Southern.

Thursday's win was the Bulldogs fifth shutout win of the season, and second in Big South play.

The match will have big implications on where Asheville will be seeded in the Big South Tournament, and whether the Bulldogs can receive home-court advantage for the quarterfinal round.

With a win, Asheville locks up the advantage. With a loss, they would need Radford to also lose to Charleston Southern on Sunday to play at the ARC.

The undefeated Buccaneers have been a force to be reckoned with, as the closest match in Big South play has been two 5-2 matches.

Last season, the Bulldogs took the doubles point from the eventual conference champions, and a singles match win by Ami Grace Dougah on the way to a 5-2 loss.

Saturday's match will start at 1:00 p.m. at Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
