Women's Tennis shutout Presbyterian 7-0 on Senior Day

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Women's Tennis sent seniors Lize Alet Morkel and Taylor Love out with a bang Thursday afternoon, handing Presbyterian a 7-0 loss on Senior Day.
Rosie Dickson and Ami Grace Dougah got the Bulldogs started with a 6-1 victory on the No. 1 court, followed by a 7-6 victory on the No. 2 court by Ari Siegel and Linge Steenkamp.
Dickson and Dougah improved to 13-2 on the year in doubles matches, while Siegel and Steenkamp move to 11-1.
Singles play was a battle, as three Bulldogs went to three-sets to pull out a win.
On the No. 2 court, Dougah collected her 13th win on the season 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, while Taylor Love emerged victorious in a gutsy 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 win.
Sophomore Beatrice Faureng rounded out the day on the No. 6 court 4-6, 6-2, 10-2.
Morkel (6-3, 6-3), Steenkamp (7-5, 6-4), and Dickson (6-2, 6-3) all handled business in straight-sets on the Nos. 1, 3, and 5 courts.
The win moves Asheville to 4-3 in conference play, locking up at least a 5-seed in the Big South Tournament, and a chance at the 4-seed with a win on Saturday and a Radford loss on Sunday.
The Bulldogs have a date with the No. 1 team in the conference in undefeated Charleston Southern Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
