Men’s Tennis drops match against ETSU

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – For just the second time all season, UNC Asheville Men's Tennis fell to its opponent, as ETSU topped the Bulldogs 6-1 at the Asheville Racquet Club Saturday afternoon.
The doubles action was hotly contested, with the duo of Bruno Serra and Rafa Serra scoring a 6-4 victory at the No. 3 flight, and Sirawite Daosaengsawang and Leo Bierbaum were narrowly edged 7-6 at the No. 2 flight. ETSU would claim doubles flight No. 1 to secure the team point.
In singles competition the Bucs would take flights No. 1 through three in straight sets to go in front 4-0, adding victories at flights No. 4 and 5. Quinn Fender fought valiantly for a win at the No. 6 flight, topping Juan Jose Vargas 7-6, 6-4 (7-2).
The Bulldogs remain at home for their next match, hosting Kennesaw State on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
