Baseball Hits the Road for Three at Winthrop

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville baseball team will be back in action this weekend as it travels to Winthrop for a three-game Big South series. Asheville and Winthrop will play a doubleheader on Friday before playing a single contest on Saturday, with the first pitch scheduled to be thrown at 2 p.m. each day.

Game 1: Ryan Douglas (AVL) vs. Tyler Jones (WIN)
Game 2: Jacob Edwards (AVL) vs. Daniel Blair (WIN)
Game 3: Kole Harris (AVL) vs. Macklin Ohs (WIN)
Last Time Out – The Bulldogs played in their longest game since 2016 on Tuesday as they fell to Presbyterian in 14 innings, 5-4. Asheville's record moved to 8-15 overall and 7-11 in league play with the loss.
One Away – Senior Brandon Lankford launched a solo home run Tuesday at PC, which brings him within one of the program's all-time home run record. Lankford, who has homered in two of the last three games, ranks second in the Big South with six long balls and is second among active Division I players with 41 career home runs.
