ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's soccer team returns home on Wednesday, welcoming Radford University to Greenwood Field for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
A Look Back
Most recently, the Bulldogs traveled to High Point last Saturday, falling to the Panthers 5-0. Due to its Charleston Southern match being postponed, the Bulldogs have only played two matches so far and are 0-2 on the young season. Still trying to break through offensively, four Bulldogs have registered shots with Kate Sollom and Courtney McKlusky registering shots on frame. In net, Bronwyn Luitweiler opened the season with a career-high 12 saves.
Scouting the Highlanders
Radford, which was selected second in the Big South's Preseason Poll, should prove to be another tough test, entering Wednesday with a 2-1 record. After falling to Presbyterian 1-0, the Highlanders responded with a 2-1 win over Campbell on Sunday. Eight different players have score for Radford thus far, led by Reese Degnan and Maevyn Jones who have both totaled two. Lexi Dean has gotten all three starts in net, picking up 10 saves while conceding just two goals.
The Series
Radford has had the series advantage, winning the last eight matches.. The Bulldogs last win over the Highlanders was a 1-0 road victory in 2011.
