Kishida and Hassig Earn All-Conference Honorable Mention Honors, Hassig Named to All-Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville senior midfielder Akari Kishida and senior defender Shae Hassig have earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors while Hassig was also named to the All-Academic Team, announced by the league today (Friday, Oct. 31).

Kishida appeared in all 17 matches this season, making 16 starts. She totaled 1,078 minutes and led the team with four goals for eight points.

This is Kishida's first career All-Conference honor. The Tokyo, Japan native is a business major.

Hassig played and started all 17 matches this season for the Bulldogs, totaling 1,345 minutes on the back line for a team that has led the conference in team Goals Against Average at 1.00. Hassig also tallied one assist on the season for one point. Hassig was also named to the All-Academic Team, posting a 3.67 grade point average in psychology.

This is Hassig's first career All-Conference honor as well as her first time being named to the All-Academic Team. Â
