Makayla Cihlar Named Big South Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer sophomore midfielder Makayla Cihlar has been named the Big South Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week alongside Winthrop's Monssi Avila-Gutierrez, announced by the league today (Monday, Sept. 14).
 
Cihlar helped Asheville to a pair of wins this week to conclude non-conference play with three goals on the week. She scored the game-winner in the 1-0 win at Davidson on Thursday (Sept. 10), while also recording her first career brace with two goals in the 5-1 win over VMI on Sunday (Sept. 13).
 
This is Cihlar's first career Big South Conference weekly honor. The Rockville, Md. Native is a double-major in chemistry and psychology.
 
The Bulldogs (3-3-3) open Big South Conference play Saturday night (Sept. 19) at home against Presbyterian. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. from Greenwood Field, with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
