London Phoenix Named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Soccer goalkeeper London Phoenix has been named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week, announced by the league today (Tuesday, Sept. 8).

Despite a draw with The Citadel and a loss to (RV) Clemson last week, Phoenix showed out in goal making 19 total saves in two matches including a career-high 14 at Clemson Sunday night (Sept. 6). Her 14 saves marked Asheville's first double-digit save effort since Gracie Murray stopped 12 shots back on Sept. 23, 2023 at USC Upstate.

This is Phoenix's first career Big South Conference weekly honor. The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Native is a health sciences major.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Thursday (Sept. 10) at Davidson in non-conference action. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. from Davidson, N.C. with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
