Women’s soccer falls at High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. – After nearly two weeks in between games, the UNC Asheville women's soccer team traveled to High Point on Saturday, dropping the game to the Panthers 5-0.
The Panthers had five shots on goal, while Courtney McClusky registered one for the Bulldogs.
What's Next
The Bulldogs, whose game last Sunday was canceled due to Covid concerns within the Charleston Southern program, are now 0-2 on the young season. Asheville returns home on Wednesday, hosting Radford at 4:00 p.m.
How it Happened
High Point created the first chance just minutes into the game, registering another shot in the 15th minute. In the 20th, McCluskey fired a shot on frame that was saved by Morgan Hairston. The Panthers continued to press, breaking through in the 40th minute when Juliette Vidal found the back of the net.
High Point would strike again early in the second, registering a corner kick that would result in a Magdalena Schwarz goal. The Panthers continued to press, adding a third in the 57th. After High Point scored, Asheville registered a corner but could not cash in as the Panthers ultimately took the game 5-0.
